What We Saw Work in 2025 (and What Didn’t)

A look back, from the floor of a neighborhood health food store

If 2025 felt loud, confusing, or overwhelming when it came to wellness — you weren’t imagining it.
There were more products, more trends, more opinions, and more pressure than ever. And if you were just trying to feel better without making things worse, it was hard to know where to start.

So instead of chasing noise, we did what we always do - we paid attention to you.

Everything below comes from real conversations in our store — what you asked about, what you came back for, and what quietly became part of your routine. No hype. No fear. Just what actually worked in real life.

Because one of our core beliefs is this - everyone is a beginner at something — and that’s not a weakness.

What We Saw Work in 2025 (and What Didn’t)

How We’re Defining “What Worked”

When we say something “worked” in 2025, we don’t mean it went viral or made big promises.

We mean:

  • You bought it more than once
  • You asked thoughtful follow-up questions
  • It fit into your life without adding stress
  • You told us, “Yeah… this actually helped.”

Fear has no place here.
You didn’t need to do everything.
You just needed a place where learning was welcome.

What You Kept Coming Back For in 2025

Foundational Foods (Because Basics Matter)

Over and over, you chose foods that felt grounding and trustworthy, and as important were nutrient dense:

  • Raw milk
  • Local eggs
  • Grass Fed Local and Organic Ground Beef
  • Local organic sourdough bread

These weren’t impulse buys. They were confidence buys.

You weren’t chasing perfection — you were choosing nourishment. And that’s the kind of decision that actually sticks.

Bulk Herbs Made Things Feel Simple Again

Instead of complicated formulas, you reached for herbs you could recognize and use:

  • Ceylon cinnamon
  • Turmeric
  • Hibiscus
  • Elderberry

We saw these become part of daily routines — not because they were trendy, but because they made sense.

This is what we mean when we say we’re learners and we’re teachers. We learn what you’re reaching for, and we help you learn how to use it well.

Simple Functional Ingredients Won Out

Across supplements and drinks, a few ingredients showed up again and again:

  • Magnesium (especially glycinate & L-threonate)
  • L-theanine
  • Lion’s mane

You weren’t asking for extremes.
You were asking for steadiness — better sleep, calmer focus, more resilience.

That’s health problem-solving, not health chasing.

Sleep and Stress Support Stayed Strong

Products that supported regulation — not stimulation — continued to matter:

  • CBN-forward sleep gummies
  • Ashwaghanda supplements
  • Magnesium, magnesium, magnesium (we are so happy you are taking this one!)

What worked best were products that fit into real evenings and real mornings — not quick fixes, but tools that supported your nervous system over time.

What Didn’t Work So Well (And That’s Okay)

We also noticed where things got frustrating.

You struggled most when you:

  • Tried to chase every new trend.  (Berberine only works to support a healthy metabolism if you take it 3X a day, every day)
  • Changed too many things at once
  • Stacked supplements without context (Supplements are meant to fill gaps where food isn’t enough nutrition.  They are not cure-alls)
  • Bought complex products without support  (Nutrient timing is a real thing, we love when you ask us about this)

A lot of these things were tried once — and not again.

That didn’t mean you failed.
It meant the approach wasn’t supportive.

And that’s important information.  Because in 2026, we want to support you better!

The Bigger Pattern We Saw in 2025

When we zoomed out, one thing became clear:

2025 wasn’t about doing more.
It was about doing less, better.

You gravitated toward:

  • Simpler routines
  • Nervous-system support
  • Foundational nutrition
  • Guidance instead of guesswork

And yes — having fun mattered too. Enjoyable food. Drinks that felt social, not stressful. Products that made you feel human again.

Health works better when it doesn’t feel like a punishment.

Why Local Still Matters

All of this is why local matters so much.

Because when you shop locally:

  • You’re not just buying products — you’re having conversations with real people.
  • You’re allowed to be a beginner without feeling judged.
  • And you don’t have to figure everything out alone.  We’ve got you!

We don’t want you perfect.
We want you supported.

Looking Ahead

What we saw in 2025 now shapes how we stock the store, how we price products, and how we help you decide what’s worth your time and money.

In our next post, we’ll share what we’re watching for 2026 — where things are heading, what we’re excited about, and where we think slowing down will matter more than ever.

Until then, thank you for letting us learn with you.  If you want guidance you can actually talk through, come see us in person.

Nuts ’n Berries is a real store, with real people, on Peachtree Road in Brookhaven. We’re here to help you make sense of what worked in 2025 — and what might work next for you.
