FAQ

1. What is CBD ?
1.1. What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a compound derived from the industrial hemp plant. CBD is one of over 80 cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa L. plant. CBD is not psychoactive – it will not get you high.

1.2. What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Cannabis is an umbrella term to describe both hemp and marijuana. Industrial Hemp and Marijuana are the same plant! Cannabis sativa L.  The distinguishing difference is that industrial hemp contains below 0.3% THC.  THC is the ingredient in cannabis that gets you high.

1.3. Is CBD legal?

Yes. The 2014 Farm Bill allows for the cultivation of industrial hemp and the sale of industrial hemp products so long as there is less than 0.3% THC in the plant material and final product.

1.4. What is the endocannabinoid system?

A biological system in your body capable of interacting with the active compounds in the cannabis plant!

The ECS is responsible for helping the body find balance (homeostasis).  The ECS balances the systems that balance your body.

1.5. What is the Entourage Effect?

The entourage effect is a term given by Israeli scientists to describe the way hemp’s cannabinoids, nutrients and other compounds work together in the body.

These components including cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are a stronger influence together than any one of those components used alone.

When we combine multiple compounds in their natural state, we don't end up with the sum of the parts; we get a multiplying effect instead. The different compounds can amplify each other's effects, making the overall plant more effective in treating the unwanted medical symptoms.

1.6. How much CBD should I take?

Serving size is different for every person and is not necessarily condition or weight specific.  Finding the correct serving has to do with many factors and in most cases more is not better.

Start with just 1-2 mg at a time.  Titrate increasing serving size by a small amount every 2 days.

1.7. Will I test positive on a drug test?

If you get drug tested, you should not take any full or broad spectrum CBD product.  You may want talk to your HR department about CBD and let them know why you are taking this superfood.  You may also want to stick with an isolate form of CBD or just skip it all together.
