We are seeking an experienced, highly detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper. This position report directly to the CFO and will handle all company accounting, bookkeeping, and related functions required by the day-to-day business operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collect, organize, and post invoices; pay all accounts in a timely manner in accordance with payment terms (where applicable); post all other accounts payable.
  • Post and track all accounts receivable.
  • Post all hand-written checks.
  • Post all daily sales and customer numbers into our Excel spreadsheet.
  • Check for accuracy and correct as needed our daily sales summaries.
  • Post all funds we collect into Quickbooks.
  • Post all credit card expenses.
  • Keep our petty cash supply at sufficient levels, and post petty cash expenses; when needed, get change for the tills from our petty cash.
  • On a monthly basis post spoilage, store supplies, and marketing/demo expenses, and post monthly totals to Quickbooks.
  • On a monthly basis reconcile our bank accounts.
  • Twice per month, post our payroll information into Quickbooks.
  • Post payroll taxes.
  • Monthly, calculate our worker’s compensation insurance payment due, pay it, and post the information.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • On a weekly basis, put together our bank deposits and make the deposit.
  • Produce financial reports as requested.
  • Attend staff meetings.

 Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a retail setting.
  • Must have computer skills, particularly experience with Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
  • Knowledge of dietary supplements, natural and organic foods is a plus.
