La Union is here to make your morning better! We love Colombian coffees for their distinct and bold flavors, and this offering is no exception. La Union is exquisitely balanced, with delightful notes of apple and cherry and an exceptionally sweet body and finish. Honestly, you might not ever want to drink another cup of coffee. But don’t just take our word for it, scoop up a bag or two and get these beans in your mouth! That sounded weird! I’m so sorry!
FUDAM is a 300-member association of Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified growers founded in 2000 by a small group of producers who shared a vision of commitment to sustainable agriculture and the protection of the environment. The members of FUDAM are from the small municipality of La Unión in Nariño. The farmer’s homes in La Unión are situated so high on the mountain workers actually walk down the mountain to go to the farm. The farmers pick during the day and depulp in the afternoon, typically fermenting the lots for 16-24 hours. The coffees are washed two to three times before being dried in mechanical or parabolic dryers. The mechanical drying takes between 25–40 hours, while the other drying structures can take up to 15 days.
